A feast of experiences
Two's a party: Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq & Holey Moley Golf Club Touch Down in Christchurch
Funlab, the masterminds who transformed Auckland’s entertainment scene, are bringing their all-immersive fun-zones, Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq and Holey Moley Golf Club, down to Christchurch for their biggest and best funtainment space yet.
Located in Christchurch’s EntX complex, just below HOYTS, Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq and Holey Moley Golf Club are the two new kids on the block - boasting mind-blowing arcade-games, crazy golf courses, and 8-lanes of bowling all jam-packed into one epic precinct.
CEO of FunLab, Michael Schreiber says “The concept behind these two spaces is all about embracing nostalgic, unique fun - a chance to enjoy a social experience that really counterpoint our hugely digital lives. From the gameplay to the ‘gram opportunities, we’re the best place to unleash your inner kid-ult,”
Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq is an arcade space that prides itself on being a feast for the senses. Upon entering through red velvet drapes, notice the scent of popcorn and fairy floss heavy in the air. Look out into a sea of colourful flashing arcade game signs and enjoy the upbeat DJ spun tunes. Nail a strike on one of the 8-lanes of bowling and take your pick from games including Rabbids VR, Mario Kart, Connect 4 Hoops and the classic Space Invaders, or even better, try your luck on them all!
Those looking for another layer of fun can hop across to Holey Moley Golf Club, home to a not-so-traditional mini-golf course. With some wacky and innovative mini-golf obstacles and traditional putt-putt with a twist, the space is a multi-sensory labyrinth for all. Set across two sets of 9-hole courses, make your way through The HMS Teetanic, Kong Live the King, Kid in a Candy Shop, and Morning Tee with Nana.
Once gamer guests work up an appetite, they can head to the American-style diner to indulge in delicious burgers, hotdogs, loaded fries and more. In between rounds, the adults can indulge in the two bars that are stocked with extravagant, instagrammable cocktails and craft beers. With an impressive drinks menu, those with a sweet tooth can rejoice - think bubble gum flavoured liquors, decadent hard shakes and signature house specialities like the brand spanking new Rub a Dub Tub cocktail which comes in an actual mini tub with floating rubber ducks!
The decision to launch in Christchurch was something Michael says was a response to the vibrant rejuvenation of the city centre.
“When choosing where to next launch Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq and Holey Moley in New Zealand, we were excited by Christchurch as a city that is thriving in revitalised growth - we’re thrilled that our two hit entertainment spaces are set to elevate and add excitement to EntX in the city centre,” he says.
The hybrid opening is excitingly part of a wider relaunch of EntX Christchurch, the entertainment complex situated in the heart of the city centre, where Adam Copland, Director of Investment & Transactions at Mackersy Property is thrilled to see the space come alive.
“We’re thrilled to be relaunching EntX and hit the ground running with the opening of Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq and Holey Moley. This space is a vibrant addition to the EntX precinct and a huge win for the Christchurch community. We can’t wait to see more locals venturing into the city to experience all the food and entertainment excitement that EntX and the city centre has to offer” says Mr Copland.
Bring along the kids by day and become a kid-ult by night - these two action-packed worlds of fun have something for everyone.
Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq and Holey Moley will open to the public on October 7th and will be located in EntX, Christchurch Central City. The precinct will be open seven days until late. Reservations are now welcome for all occasions including wild work-dos, brilliant birthday parties, unforgettable Christmas functions and more - book early to avoid disappointment.
